What's The Word On Juicing - Why You Should, Not Why You Shoudn't

This my friends is my juice basket, I also own a pretty stocked juice drawer. My dedicated shrines to my fruits, vegetables, and roots (ie ginger) for my delic concoctions.

I know you've heard far too much on this topic, and an ear full from me if you're on any of my social boards, but all for good reason.

Before you close me down give me a few paragraphs to change your rolling eyes. You see I'm not a crazy fitness junkie, there's no crazy expensive shopping here, no expensive powders or gross recipes....and no fasting or strict cleanses.

Feel a little better? Good. Juicing isn't hard, it's not expensive, and it's not gross...I for one would not be missing meals or drinking salads. Most importantly I wouldn't suggest anything so strongly if it didn't change, even save, my life....that's a whole 'nother post!

Juicing is beneficial if you're using ANY type of juicer (the $30 walmart options work just fine) OR blender! It's truly only down to a cellular level, and your personal health status when this really makes a difference. I'm talking cancer or more terminal health issues. That's when you need to focus on the oxidation and heat levels of your juice.

What will just adding a juice or two to your day/week do? Well, what won't it do?! You'll have energy, start sleeping better, clean up your skin head to toe, and start to change your eating habits over all...just to scratch the surface.

If for no other benefit do it for a change in energy and detoxification on a cellular level. Your body will amaze you at how different it will function.

I suggest starting slow, if you'll use a juicer, try a few carrots (2 or 3), an apple (your pick green or red), and a dash of orange or pure orange juice (don't juice the orange, squeeze it), and if you're up to it squeeze a lime as well. Don't like those options? Try a blender, a small handful of spinach, a handful of pineapple, strawberries, and about half a cup cold water and some ice cubes (don't go for smoothie make it a bit more watery than frosty).

When using fruit feel free to stock up at Aldi in the frozen aisle, or whole foods (1.29-2.29/bag)!!!! Just blend any frozen items, they'll turn to mush in a juicer. I also suggest blending any soft items to increase your fiber and "whole" food intake.

AND if you're a berry only person try berries of your choice, vanilla almond or coconut milk ( we're avoiding dairy in these drinks to cut down bacteria and allergens), and banana. Anything to get you slowly introduced to this lifestyle.

As time goes on incorporate a new item, check out some great recipes from Joe Cross or The Juice Bible! Also try adding maca powder, chia seeds, or flax powder...no taste changes! You'll start to see your taste change and crave clean foods. The key is to incorporate more sweetness in the beginning. I personally have never tasted a bad juice even in true effort to make something awful. They taste like sweet cold juices from the aisle but unprocessed, and nothing like V8 options.

There's a misconception that if you juice "wrong" it's not good for you, and that you need to eat your food. Well, smarty pants, when you eat your fill of fruits and veggies call me. Today there's no time and mostly no motivation or desire to eat this healthy. It also will not harm you...at all. When using a juicer you are concentrating different molecules of the foods and getting it to your blood stream stat! Blending takes a more digestive route taking slightly longer.

In the end your body is getting the fresh real fruits and vegetables we are missing. Help your body, fill in the gaps that are making your body weak from the inside out. You'll never regret it.

So now if you trust me I challenge you! Try juicing for even just one week, breakfast and or dinner. You can make them ahead at least 3 days, just store in GLASS and shake well, I also love mine with a straw.

If you feel up to it and need a total body make over try a 3 day to a week "reboot." I prefer to have 3 juices minimum, and if I'm eating solid food I choose salad, tuna, chicken, fish, (grill or bake meat with seasoning) and any vegetables I want, baked or grilled potatoes change it up nicely! Use some parsley and pepper to flavor potatoes, I usually "lazy smash it" on my plate and top with paprika. Grilled peaches and pineapple also feel really guilty!

I have NEVER been told that my methods were hard, unrealistic, or not amazing and life changing. I have even had kids, seniors, and college students hooked!

What do you have to lose?! Another day of itching, being tired, stressed, or feeling gross inside? Hello, you don't "feel fat" when you have this in your life! Honestly, even just one or two a day as a lifestyle change rocks your world.
