Does this look familiar? No? How about this...
Yea, I thought so, your makeup drawer at one time or another right, or if your pinterest account had a drawer, am I right?!
A life is full of makeup, products, and crazy tools, they suck you in! You pass the aisle, or you dare walk into Sephora or Ulta, and you black out. The colors, the shapes, the promises...there's no stopping the beauty beast.
Now, let's be honest, even if you found the perfect one of everything, you'd still buy everything else just to try it! You already do. You have favorites, but you buy things anyway. My question here is, are they the best products or just the best products you've found?
Allow me to first suggest a cheaper, and fun way to try all the latest girl thrills.
Ipsy Subscription Box
This is one of the more affordable subscription boxes at $10/month. You receive a handful of items based on your likes and interestes. You answer a few questions so the creators can get an understanding of the products you're most interested in, then every month you receive a bag of products. No membership, no fuss, cancel any time, it's well worth it!
Let's start the roll call with a girls number one beauty must have, mascara!
When it comes to a worthy mascara I look for it to give me everyday light, natural, soft lashes. I'm not a girl looking for heavy, spidery, goopey peepers, and that's what most mascaras give you.
The winner at $5.51: Maybelline Full n' Soft
It's separates, darkens, lifts, lengthens, and spreads your lashes perfectly, and you can layer as needed for more dramatic moments, and for summer try the waterproof.
Beachy hair spray a.k.a Surf Spray or Salt Water Spray
On this item I'm looking for what I get from good ol' mother nature; texture, fullness, wave, THAT SMELL, but with less stickiness.
The winner at $6.29: Not Your Mothers Texturing Sea Salt Spray
I've taken my own bottles from the ocean, made my own in the kitchen, and spent a fortune on different brands for at least the last 10 years. This one takes the cake, not too expensive, easy to use, light and not sticky. Remember, this is sea salt spray, it is slightly tacky, it creates texture, but my hair can still have softness in the end. I also use this to give my fine flat hair some volume, just spray a little in your hands, rub together, and massage into dry roots!
A perfect palette. I don't like using a lot of anything on my skin, but sometimes you need to even out your tone, prevent shine, and just give yourself a little color.

$33 Laura Geller Balance and Brighten in Medium
This is a great product for any age. It's light, can provide full coverage, a natural color with a kiss of sun...but won't give you any bronzy streaks, you can place shades where you want them, or be unified all over...pretty cool in one product huh? Don't be overwhelmed by the marbling, you're not going to mess anything up, it's user friendly and fool proof. I have a light complexion, and the medium is my summer pick.

$15 Mac Omega Eyeshadow
Yea, you knew I was going Mac. You just can't beat some of their pigments. For me Mac stays put, it doesn't break down to dust, you can use it wet or dry, and this color is a great everyday choice, for all eye colors.
If this isn't for you I'd also recommend, Patina, Sumptuous Olive, Tempting, Woodwinked, and Retrospeck....all Mac, all great for daily drivers, I can't help myself.

$18 Lip Tar in Jealous
I know I'm getting expensive on you. For me, when I have those items that work, and last I don't have to search for others or replace it often. This lip stain is a perfect pinkish red. At first I applied way too much and almost cried at the look. To start, just lightly dab and press your lips together and spread the color, then build until you have your perfect shade. This pinkish red is very refreshing and clean, it gives you that natural color you wish you had. Don't google for colors, I found nothing but heavy applications with a ton of gloss. You should also try this in Harlot, this one has almost a post popcicle color, again a fresh and natural, but you need to build your color.

$5 Nivea Extended Moisture Lotion
Oh the choices you have here. I'be been bouncing around lotions for quite some time, but have found a favorite in Nivea. I typically favor body butters or a more oily option, but this one is easy to apply, not too thick or sticky, and absorbs very well.
$3 St. Ives Apricot Scrub
An oldie and a goody. My 2 favorite uses, cleaning up some dingy skin, and scrubbing down some dry soles...really good for keeping blackheads at away.
$10 Infusium 23 Leave-In Conditioner
I've been using this since I was born....I swear. I have tried everything Bumble and Bumble, Tresemme, Pantene, Biolage, etc. Nothing can compete for me here. I choose this time and time again because it keeps my hair healthy and strong when I'm a fine haired girl with no hair to spare. I simply can't live without this product.
Will you be making any of these your new favorite things? They've never lead me wrong, and I hope they can be your favorite go to's also.
Next finds on my list...hair spray, dry shampoo, hair wax, blow dryer, straightener, and brush. Here's to the hunt!
